Welcome to the Arachis Press

We are a small press, publishing quality (but not overly expensive!) books for all ages. To browse our catalog, please go to the Books page or visit the Store at our distributor’s site. Also, visit our Eggshell Boats imprint for more offerings. Eggshell Boats focuses on poetry and literary fiction.

Our Catalog

The Arachis Press publishes a range of books, both nonfiction and fiction, as well as children’s books and poetry. We offer contemporary mainstream novels, mysteries, and literary fantasy. Please feel free to browse our catalog, here or at our store.

Our Purpose

We hope to offer a variety of books, both entertaining and thoughtful, at reasonable prices. We do not add huge markups to our costs, especially on our ebooks, which all sell for the same low cost of $2.99.

Formats

At this time, our books are offered in print and ebook. Most of the print editions are paperbacks, although select titles are available in hard cover. We sell our ebooks in EPUB format directly and at vendors across the internet. For the Kindle version, you must go to Amazon. We are looking into the possiblity of audio books.

Our Authors

Links to their sites: Stephen Brooke Sienna Santerre (debut novel coming soon!)

Arachis

Just what is an arachis and why would one press it? Well, it is not the planet in the sci-fi novel, ‘Dune.’ That would be Arrakis. Also, the accent is on the first syllable so it is not pronounced the same. Arachis is actually the scientific name for the peanut, coming from a Greek word meaning a seed. Since we are physically located on Peanut Road and we like the idea of growing things and hope to plant a few seeds with our books, Arachis Press seemed a good choice. Arachis Press was founded by artist and author Stephen Brooke, who conceived of it originally as a small poetry press. We soon expanded to include novels, nonfiction, and children’s books. Incidentally, our logo is in the quite pedestrian typeface Bookman. We like the solid look of it and, as an added bonus, it is not one of the Google fonts one sees everywhere across the web.
